Wadie Habboush, President and CEO of the Habboush Group, has provided insights into global economic trends, particularly focusing on the energy sector in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. In 2013, he highlighted the critical role of the energy sector in Turkey’s economic growth, noting that “the energy sector is the most important sector for not only the growth of the Turkish economy, but for the economic growth of the greater region.”
Habboush also emphasized the potential for stronger economic relations between Turkey and Iraq, stating that “Iraq and Turkey could be the fastest growing emerging markets in the next five years.” He advocated for increased energy cooperation and trade between the two countries, viewing Iraq as a valuable source of energy for Turkey and Europe.
Furthermore, during the World Energy Congress in 2013, Habboush addressed energy imbalances in the MENA region. He pointed out that while countries in the region provide energy at subsidized rates for their populations, they risk depleting their export potential within two decades.
More recently, in 2022, the Habboush Group formed a strategic alliance with NuScale Power Corporation and ENTRA1 to facilitate the financing, development, and management of clean energy projects globally. This partnership aims to address the growing demand for sustainable energy solutions.
